People come from all around to shop at Atwater Market, take in a show at the Corona Theatre and go the cafes, art galleries, shops and trendy restaurants on Notre-Dame Street, in the heart of the borough. With the current real estate boom, the area is fast developing. And if the number of dynamic business owners and artists who have migrated here is any indication, this development will not end any time soon. It is no wonder that Elle Québec magazine recently called the sector “Montréal’s Soho.” Everything just a few steps from home Did you know that the Sud-Ouest is home to Montréal’s second largest sports complex, the Complexe Gadbois? Did you know that the borough has four public libraries, seven swimming pools, three arenas, one cultural centre, some twenty recreation centres and as many daycare centres (CPE)? And let’s not forget its one hundred plus parks and public squares, including the magnificent Angrignon Park, and its many bicycle paths! The borough is serviced by seven metro stations including Lionel-Groulx station where the green and orange lines meet. There is also quick access to Ville-Marie and Bonaventure expressways as well as to Highway 15 and Champlain and Victoria bridges. With all the great projects that are underway, Sud-Ouest’s current population of 70,000 will likely increase by 20,000 over the next 10 years. All that is missing is you!
